Here we go with another lube review. Well, as a sex toy reviewer I do go through lots of the stuff. I need to start buying it in 5l bottles with the rate I go through it.
I always use lube when masturbating or during sex and it is important to do so. The inner membranes of the vagina are easily damaged. Lube helps to prevent damage by providing a frictionless layer between you and what you are enjoying.
As I go through so much of the stuff, I enjoy trying out new brands continually looking for the best body safe ones out there.
latex Leather and Lace sent me this bottle of Wicked Toy Love Gel For Intimate Toys.
So read on to see what my foof thinks of it.
This bottle arrived as a Christmas present from Latex Leather and Lace. Everything that I have ever received from them has been well packaged in discreet packaging.
My postie must have a bad back with all the packages he has to deliver for me over the year. At least he has no idea just how kinky I am from the packaging though.
Packaging and Materials
I can honestly say that the Wicked Toy Love Lube impressed me when it comes to its packaging. A lot of thought has gone into it, and it is very functional.
You get a 100ml 3.3fl oz bottle of the lube with black and pink branding that looks rather nice. It also has a protective cap as this is a pump bottle dispenser. These are my favourite type of lube bottles as they allow you to dispense just the right amount of lube with no wastage.
The design of the pump is rather lovely, looking almost organic with its curves. I thought it was faulty at first as it takes quite a few pumps to prime it the first time you use it.
Once primed though it is very responsive dispensing lube evenly onto your finger or toy. It is at the nozzle end of the pump that I was most impressed. Wicked has tackled the biggest problem with a pump dispenser, and they have done so efficiently and with aplomb.
The big problem with pump lube dispensers (usually) is that the lube that is left in the nozzle dries out between uses and acts as a plug preventing you from being able to use it without soaking it in warm water and cleaning it out.
Wicked have supplied their own plug, and this is such a simple and elegant solution that I don’t know why other lube manufacturers are doing it. No doubt they will soon cotton on to the idea though.
This elegant plug is easy to fit and remove and instantly turns pump dispensers into the perfect dispensing system of choice. Well done Wicked.
Wicked Toy Love Lube contains the following ingredients:
Ingredients: Water, Propylene Glycol, Cellulose Gum, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Olea Europaea Leaf Extract, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Disodium EDTA, Citric Acid, Diazolidinyl Urea, Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate.
It is Glycerin and paraben free which is something that you should always insist on when it comes to lubes. This water-based formula is designed to be deliciously thick and creamy.
The addition of the Aloe in the lube leaves your skin soft and moisturised after use.
The Wicked Toy Love Lube has a mild fragrance that is very pleasant, but it has a bit of a funny taste. Nothing too off-putting but this is definitely a lube designed for dildo and sex toy play and not oral. That said I would go down on someone coated in it as it isn’t too bad.
Onto the most important part of this review, how good is it in use? Having tried a lot of lubes now, I can quickly get to grips with them and see pretty much from the first drop to land on my finger if it is going to be good, meh or terrible.
I am happy to say that the Wicked Toy Love Lube is a lovely blend of water-based lube.
From the moment you see the first drop emerge from the pump dispenser and hand from the end of the nozzle before slowly dripping onto your finger you know, it ticks the thickness box.
I much prefer thicker lubes and have lost count of how many times I have applied runnier lubes to a fingertip only to find that when said fingertip arrives at my clitoris or anus, it arrives without the lube which is now soaking into my sheets.
When you apply Wicked Toy Love Lube to a vibrator, dildo or even your fingertip, it stays put no matter what angle you hold it. This is fantastic as it means less wastage and more importantly, you can apply it where you want to to go without soaking the bedding.
It is deliciously thick and creamy, spreading out well and even stringing between your fingertips. In fact, I would go as far as to say that itis the perfect thickness for me and I love it for that fact.
But once spread out it is so slippery, and it feels sublime in use, lasting a very long time. Its long-lasting nature is comparable to much more expensive lubes.
Once rubbed into the skin it becomes thoroughly absorbed, and it doesn’t leave you feeling sticky or tacky at all. My skin feels moisturised and nourished after a coating of this lube. I just love masturbating with it as it feels so nice. Knowing that there are no nasty surprises in its composition means that I can relax and enjoy it.
I have a very delicate foof and react quite badly to parabens and certain other lube ingredients, but I have had no problems with Wicked Toy Love Lube at all, and that is a testimony to its hypoallergenic ingredients.
This is a lube that is pretty much perfect for sex toy and dildo play. It also it comes in the perfect dispenser. It is pretty impressive that Wicked has hit the mark straight out of the box with this one. Their range of flavoured lubes is also fantastic, and I will be covering them in a separate review soon.
So if you are looking for a body-safe water-based lube that will not leave you feeling like your sex bits have a coating of wallpaper paste at the end of a session then definitely check this one out.
I love it and have no problem at all in giving it a very strong recommendation.
